Kaylyn Thomas has signed a 4 year full ride scholarship to swim for Georgia Southern.  She is the first North Forsyth High School Swimmer for Coach Kris Hunt to sign with a college.

When asked when she started swimming and what her favorite event was, Kaylyn responded, “I love swimming with all my heart.  Swimming has made me into the person I am today. In 6th grade I started swimming with Dynamo and have been there ever since.  The first time I swam the 200 Free I knew it was the race I was meant to excel in. Standing up on those blocks right before diving in and getting that feeling of pure happiness and adrenaline right before my body slides into the cool water is by far the best part of swimming.”

This truly talented athletic young lady couldn’t say enough thank yous to everyone. “I want to thank my wonderful hardworking parents for making this possible and for always believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself.  Also, all of my coaches who have shaped and formed me into the swimmer I am today.  I am extremely grateful to all of the people in my life who have supported, loved, and cared for me throughout my swimming career. Without all of these great people in my life I would never be where I am today.  I am truly blessed and humbled to have such an amazing opportunity to continue my swimming career through college.”

Keep an eye out for her as a swimming GSU Eagle in winter 2014.
