“Annotations do not let me enjoy books anymore. Whenever I go to read, I do not imagine what is happening in the story. I start thinking of the rhetorical devices used throughout it. I don’t read as much as a did before annotations were a part of my life.” – Tinaye Gibbons

Forgive Me, For I Used to Hate The National

Cameron Conner, Staff Writer December 1, 2014

As much as it pains me to admit this, until recently I really could not stand The National. I used to let out an ominous hiss at the sight of my peers posting grayscale pictures of whatever their newest...

The tension is high as a visitor observes this rehearsal. Chamber choir singers are practicing their Christmas songs, but one of last year’s graduates is observing them. Joshua Shepherd can feel the tension, and couldn’t resist the chance to lighten the mood. With a pencil up his nose, he makes a ridiculous face at the visitor. Her laughter makes everyone relax. No one else seems to care about his antics because this is an example of everyday Joshua Shepherd.

Rayne Crivelli, Staff Writer November 5, 2014

You’re not fat, you’re big boned. You’re not fat, you have fat. You’re not fat, you’re beautiful. All said with good intentions, but all cutting like knives through my thick skin. Halfheartedly...

A satellite photograph reveals that the layout of the school campuses of the North Forsyth elementary, middle, and high schools are distinctly triangular, just like the most common symbol used by the Illuminati. The giant sphere that holds the Spaceship Earth ride is visible in all parts of Epcot. Spaceship Earth looms over everything else in the park, so onlookers can see it no matter where they are in Epcot. The sphere, besides being an impressive sight, can also serve as a directional beacon, as it is located near the entrance of the park. This is most helpful to those who are stuck in the Food and Wine Festival, as they can easily guide themselves back to the entrance of Epcot.

Around the World in 25 Countries

Seniors Brian Grasso and Emma Browning cheerfully smile at the camera with the knowledge of their possibly imminent scholarship opportunity. Browning and Grasso studied for days preparing for the PSAT their junior year, working to achieve high enough scores to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship. “I actually got a higher score my sophomore year,” Emma explains, laughing. “You can do a lot with $2500. To be considered for this scholarship could mean lower college tuition, which would make the preparation worth it.”

In the weeks leading up to the September 18 independence referendum, a wave of Scottish nationalism gripped the country. Scottish pride has always existed, and has been used as a tool by both the Yes and No campaigns to win over voters. The Scottish flag has been hoisted in places all over Scotland, and has even been used by Catalonian protesters in Spain to signify their desire for an independence vote.
