With a 15-acre corn maze and a pumpkin patch and hay ride during the day, Uncle Shuck’s also has an after-dark attraction. The Dark Rows haunted trail is a perfect choice for any family looking for a “scary good time.” As it says on Uncle Shuck’s website, the fun begins on the winding path through the corn leading to the entrance of the main haunted trail. Even for those who brave the Dark Rows alone, they are far from it after entering.
The haunted trail starts off with a spinning tunnel, then exits to a dark path through the corn. With only the glow of the moon to lead guests through the winding trail, as flashlights and cameras are strictly forbidden through the nighttime experience, guests will soon find there is more than just shadows waiting for them around the next corner.
The Dark Rows feature many skilled actors throughout the path. Guests will come to find not only actors placed throughout the corn, but will also come across small sets put on by the amazing workers. The Dark Rows owners like to remind their guests that at no point should visitors touch the actors throughout the path, and no actors will touch anyone at any point in time during the experience.
The visitors will find themselves greeted by two actors acting as monkey trainers who aren’t very good at their job. Once inside their space, they meet a monkey. The trainers caution visitors to keep their hands to themselves and to not try to pet this seemingly playful monkey for it is notoriously known for biting its guests.
Before or after braving the Dark Rows, guests are welcomed to a bonfire to keep warm during their chilling experience, where they can enjoy a free s’more around the fire.
The Uncle Shuck’s community strives to create an atmosphere for people of all ages. Anyone over the age of 12 can brave the Dark Rows alone, but children younger than 12 must brave the haunted trail accompanied by a parent or guardian. With tickets that start at $22, anyone can brave the Dark Rows at Uncle Shuck’s and make a visit any Friday or Saturday night before Nov. 12. Each night, the last tickets sell at 10 p.m.
