This Halloween, a certain household took decorating to the next level. Meet Matt Freenur, a bus driver for South Forsyth High School who also seems to have a passion for decorating, too.
Freenur lives in this house with his wife and daughter. Although he is the main decorator for this house, he says that his wife helps with most of it as well. “We just have so many things now, it’s impossible for just one person to put all of this up,” says Freenur.
He claims that decorating has been a passion of his for a while now. Every year, he decorates for Halloween like this. Freenur claims that this has been a tradition in his household since he first moved into this house. He adds, “We’ve been living in this house for 30 years now. I want to say I have been decorating like this for the past 25.”
Typically, Freenur will follow a certain theme for each year. Last year he did a doll theme, however, this year he decided not to go for a theme and instead did a combination of different decorations, pulling from previous years.
Halloween is one of Freenur’s favorite holidays to decorate for, but you can find him putting just as much effort into Christmas, too.
Sadly, this year has fallen short for the Freenurs, “Most of the decorations can’t be left out in the rain and are broken now,” Freenur adds. He also claims that some of the decorations have been blown away due to a storm, he previously “tried to put up 100 grave stones, but half of them blew away.”
When asked if he ever feels the need to outdo himself each year, he says, “I would if I had more money.” He also mentioned that while he was out shopping,he found a statue he thought would be perfect– however, it was over $200.
Out of all of his Halloween decorations, though, he claimed that his favorite was the witch statue that stood next to his mailbox.
