A blue expanse of sky and water.
The thunder rumbles above waters deep
Tides, dolphins, oysters—under all of me.
Blue, turquoise, any color I shall keep
Along the sand studded shores of my sea.
Clear waters shall await the generous,
And the dark depths await my enemies.
My seas are sacred, true and treacherous;
My mermaids will sing charming melodies.
Whales break the still surface, droplets flying;
Fish dart beneath me and my seafoam green.
Though even with pollution, I’m trying,
Believing in love, joy, and things between.
Among the shallow and gentle, you’ll see
A kind, compassionate face such as me.
