Burt’s Pumpkin Farm just opened up for the 2025 fall season, and here is what you need to know: Burt’s is located in Dawsonville, it opens up at the end of August and is open until Nov. 10.
Burt’s has a wide array of gourds and pumpkins, such as their renowned carving pumpkins. They also have mini pumpkins for decorations and edible gourds and squashes. Their pumpkins range in prices and sizes, making it easy to find the perfect pumpkin.
Once you’ve got your pumpkins, you can get a ride on their hay ride. Rides are only available on weekends until Sept. 16, at which point they run every day.
Their hay ride takes you around the farm, showing its history and old barns. As the ride goes through the pumpkin and flower fields, it stops at Burt’s famous talking pumpkins. Autumn and Gordy are the talking pumpkins that tell you the story of being a pumpkin. Finally, as you descend down the hill, a beautiful view of Amicalola Falls is revealed.
The Falls aren’t the only beautiful things you can find. Their pumpkin patches make the perfect spots for photos with the family. They also have specific spots set up for taking pictures, such as their hay booth and tractor.
Besides the hay rides and pumpkins, Burt’s also has a country store. The store contains items such as their fantastic pumpkin and banana bread, not to forget their jarred goods such as honey, jam and sauces. They also offer fantastic apple cider and funnel cakes for the ride home.
The history is just as rich as the bread. Originally opening up in the 1800s as a liquor mill, Bartley Cane owned it until it was repossessed. He would later open up a country store with the goal of passing it on to his son, Hunt Cane. His grandson, Johnny Burt, would later have the idea to open up a pumpkin farm.
Over the generations, they have expanded the farm with new barns and pumpkin sheds. Burt’s now sells 50 to 70 acres worth of pumpkins.
Burt’s truly makes an amazing place to make memories for all to visit. Make sure to visit before they close for the season!
