The North Forsyth High School Theatre is bringing the horror-comedy musical “Little Shop of Horrors” to the Performing Arts Center and the FoCAL Center stage. Enjoy amazing vocals and spectacular acting—this is a must-see production!
The 1982 off-Broadway musical was created by Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, based on the 1960 film created by screenwriter Charles B. Griffith and director Roger Corman.
This show is truly mesmerizing. As someone on the backstage crew, I know people are working hard to make this one of the best performances yet! The entire cast is thrilled to invite everyone to see it. Rehearsals have been long, but worth it. They make so much progress every single day.
This performance is their top priority because they will be competing in the One-Act competition. One-Act brings all district schools together on Oct. 29 to present shortened versions of their fall shows to be judged.
Ticket prices for Little Shop of Horrors are $15 for adults, and student tickets are only $10. The dates for this production are Oct. 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 7 p.m., with an additional show on Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.
On Oct. 6, drama students from both North Forsyth Middle School and Liberty Middle School joined the cast and crew for rehearsal and a preview of the performance to be up close and ask questions about the show. Everyone involved had an amazing time.
There will be a family and friends night on Oct. 9, where each member of the cast and crew can invite two people to come see a preview of the production for no cost. This run helps all students working on the show get used to having an audience and get hyped up for opening night!
The dedication regarding this performance is a direct reflection of the hard work the cast and crew put in. Assistant Stage Manager, Anna McClure says, “Little Shop is the most technically challenging show we’ve done in a while, so our crew has learned to work together really well to make the show run the best it can.”
The lobby opens 30 minutes prior to the performance. The house will open approximately 15 minutes before the curtain or whenever sound checks are complete. They hope to see you there!
