Panic! At the Disco was formed in 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada and have a style that ranges from Punk-Pop to Alternative and Indie Rock. They have completed yet another reinvention of their band through their fourth and newest album Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die. This album was inspired by their own experiences in their hometown of Las Vegas and uses more electronic, pop and hip hop sounds than the previous records used (All Music). Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die displays the group’s inspiration from other talents such as Depeche Mode, their views on “Sin-City” as kids compared to their views now, as well as adversities they’ve faced, relationships they’ve had, and musicians they’ve idolized (Rock Sound). Some critics, such as those of Idobi Network and Pop Matters, feel the band has changed one time too many, causing each song to vary in quality and not allowing them to successfully put it together (Blum). Other critics, such as Rolling Stone, feel the band achieved yet another successful sound change and give the album great reviews (Ganz). If someone is already a fan, or is open to new music, they should listen and decide for themselves through iTunes, Spotify or YouTube. Pick up a personal copy at music and superstores! Panic! At the Disco will also be coming here to Atlanta, Georgia on February seventh, so don’t miss the opportunity to see an entertaining show to complement this enjoyable new album (Panic).
