Atlanta Braves will tear down Turner Field in 2017 and build a new stadium in Cobb County.

The Atlanta Braves plan to move to a brand new stadium in 2017. Their contract with Turner Field expires in 2016, and they would like to build the field between I-75 and I-285 in Cobb County. The association wanted to be in a more central location, so Braves’ supporters will have easier access to their beloved team. The Atlanta Braves will be able to keep their name considering their new location is outside the city limits. This new site will provide a more suburban feel to the Braves, and the stadium will no longer be in one of the poorest parts of the city. Complaints have been made that the MARTA station will be nowhere near the new park, and the Major League Baseball (MLB) association typically favors its stadiums to be in urban areas. However, the Atlanta Braves believe that their new field will bring more fans to their games due to the easy access plan that they will install. The Braves have not announced the name of their new facility.
