GSA Club president, Kylie Jefferis, works to sort through a variety of donated jeans with the help of other club members.

Aѐropostale and the charity organization DoSomething have joined forces with Fifth Harmony to form “Teens for Jeans,” a charity which collects gently used jeans and donates them to the homeless youth in the local communities. The North Forsyth Gay Straight Alliance club participated in this charity event by hosting its own jeans drive. The drive lasted several weeks, and the end result proved very fruitful. With the help of North Forsyth’s student body, the GSA club donated over 120 pairs of jeans to “Teens for Jeans.”

Small charity events such as a jeans drive are a simple and easy way to get involved in the community and help out others. Various clubs here at North Forsyth are continuously finding different charities and organizations to support. Be sure to watch the announcements or look around campus for posters that will advertise any charity drives going on now.

If the jeans drive was missed, don’t worry; there are still plenty of ways to help the local community. The NFHS student counsel is currently hosting a book drive. Bring in any books and deliver them to one of the many drop off spots located throughout the school. If there are any troubles finding a drop off spot, drop them off to room 303, located across the hall from the cafeteria.
