Robots…Man

You can watch the competition and North’s own Robotics team compete as it is broadcasted on national television on April 23rd through April 26th

After admirable performances at the state level competitions and almost a year of hard work and preparation, this April the North Forsyth Robotics Team will take part in the VEX Robotics World Championship in Anaheim, California. 500 other teams from across the globe will join them to take part in the Olympics for high school level Robotics programs.

Each year VEX designs a new game and releases the rules and guidelines almost a year prior to the next competition, leaving time for the competing teams to design their robots in a myriad of different ways in order to perform in the chosen event.

This years game, “VEX Toss Up”, is a fast-paced game in which robots try to score in  different ways by “stashing” or “hanging” balls of differing sizes on designated scoring spots located on the field.

The world championship is a year highlight for many students in the Robotics program due to the excitement of the competition itself and the community of international friends many have made over the years of past events.
