NFHS Chorus at Cumming First United Methodist Church
October 20, 2014
“Contemporary Masters” is the title of the third in the NFHS chorus’s series of Bi-Annual Masterwork Concerts. This year’s performances feature the pieces “Gloria” by Randol Bass and “Requiem” by Raymond Torres-Santos. Mr. Bass composed “Gloria” in 1990 and currently directs and composes in the Dallas, TX region. Dr. Torres-Santos composed his piece “Requiem” in 1995 where it premiered in his home country of Puerto Rico. He is an accomplished composer for many film scores and an in-demand pianist who tours the world. This performance of the “Requiem” will be only the sixth ever public showing and a Georgia Premier Performance!
On Tuesday, October 21st at 7:30 in Cumming First United Methodist Church, the Chamber Singers and Advanced Women’s Chorus from North Forsyth High School will be joined by the Chancel Choir of Cumming First United Methodist Church, “Bella Voce” from Vickery Creek Middle School under the direction of Mrs. Melissa Grizzle, and guest orchestra & soloists. It is free and open to the public so please make your plans to join the choir!
