The Disappeared

“Bright lights filling my mind cease to light the way. Fiery blood once flowing through my veins stops cold in its tracks.”

Grace Hanks, Staff Writer

Gone is the breath

that once filled my lungs.

Gone is the pain

that once filled this cavity in my soul

Bright lights filling my mind

cease to light the way

Fiery blood once flowing through my veins

stops cold in its tracks.

Gone is the wind caressing my face,

only tears remain.

Gone now, is the joy that I once soared upon,

I am falling.

Hurtling uncontrollably,

down, down, down,

into the belly of the Beast.

Songs that filled my ears

have been silenced.

Sanity that once kept me alive

has drowned me in delusion.

Gone is the girl I once was.

She’s dead now.
