Congrats to the Chorus
May 6, 2015
The last few weeks have been very successful for the NFHS Chorus as they competed and placed in many events and competitions, taking home many high-honor awards. On April 16-20, the Raider choirs competed in a national competition in Anaheim, California. The Raider Chorale received a 2nd Place Gold Award and the Chamber Singers received a 1st Place Gold Award. The Chamber Singers were also awarded Outstanding Choral Group for the highest score in the competition and also received the Adjudicator’s Award, given to only a select few ensembles recognized by the judges for the excellence on stage. Finally, the choirs received the Sweepstakes Award for the highest combined score for the event.
On April 25 and 26, the choirs also competed regionally at an annual event for the chorus, Music in the Parks. All three choirs received Superior ratings and placed 1st in their respective categories. The Chamber Singers once again took home the overall Outstanding Choir Award for the highest score in the competition. This is the 4th out of 5 years that the Chamber Singers have received this award, something that the singers and Mr. Seese are very proud of!
The Raider Chorus’ last concert of the year was Tuesday, April 28 at 7:30 pm in the Mountain Lake Church Sanctuary. The night included an enjoyable evening of entertainment presented by incredibly talented ensembles, along with many small groups and solo performances.
