Soar

So let your wings catch the wind, let your soul free with hope. It’s what you were made for, after all, to soar.

I want you to know something.

You were made to fly,

You were born with wings.

They’re quite the beauty, actually,

With colors so brilliant, so alive, so eager to shine.

They long to fan out, to grow,

To lift you up, and to renew your strength once again.

They want to set you free-

But you never let them.

You didn’t know that, did you?

Or maybe you did.

Maybe, just maybe, you’re afraid to fly.

You’re holding back from jumping off,

From soaring on wings like eagles

Your fears paralyze every ounce of hope you can possibly possess.

So here’s the truth,

You weren’t destined for the ground.

It doesn’t matter that you fell when you took flight before.

It doesn’t matter that you feel weighed down by your burdens.

It doesn’t matter that failure seems to be the one thing,

The only thing,

That you’re actually good at.

It doesn’t matter, because it’s within you.

It’s intertwined in your spirit.

These wings are what you were called to use,

And nothing can ever change that.

So let your wings catch the wind, let your soul free with hope

There’s One that will always be there to catch you.

It’s what you were made for, after all,

To soar.
