Standing Tall
January 25, 2017
Make me like a tree, God,
To stand tall,
Defined among the crowd.
I want to bend with all the changes
And the blowing of the riotous winds,
But bestow upon me the ability to remain strong,
Remain untouched, and remain dauntless.
Dear God, in life’s tests and pressing issues,
Please create me in the image of a sturdy oak,
And whistle a breeze through my leaves
With your everlasting presence.
