NFHS Prom Theme 2019: Yay Or Nay?

The theme has now been released for the 2018-2019 prom. Is it everything you were hoping for?

Since the dawn of time, there has been a theme of some kind for all dances – especially prom. The North Forsyth High School Prom Committee works diligently each year to ensure that everything goes as planned for the dance. This year, the theme is “Arabian Nights.” At first I was skeptical, but now that I have been able to analyze the ins and outs of it, I am really excited.

When I think of “Arabian Nights,” I think of Aladdin. Aladdin reminds me of Disney, and Disney is absolutely magical. I was a bit taken back when I first discovered what the theme was because  I was expecting something more basic such as “Masquerade Ball” or “A Night Under The Stars.” Typically those are the most basic and easiest themes. I was pleased to know that this year would be different than the last few.

I asked around about the theme of this year, and most of the responses were similar to mine. Some people did not have much to say about it and were just excited about spending the night getting dressed up and hanging out with friends. Junior Annie Carpenter said, “When I first saw the posters that were around the school, I thought the theme was unappealing. After thinking about it and imagining how it would be set up, I became excited.” Prom for the 2018-2019 school year is held on April 27 at the Avalon Hotel. The prom committee is working diligently as they plan and setup for the most amazing night of the year.
