Monte Pythons vs Combs Brushes in NFHS Civil War
On Nov. 4 through Nov. 8, two AP U.S. History teachers arranged a fun and creative project for their students. Mr. Monte gave his classes a black lanyard and Ms.Combs gave her classes a red lanyard. Everyone on each team received five laundry clips on their lanyards which represented necessities for survival in the civil war. The goal of the project was to get as many clips as possible, meaning the opposing sides had to steal from each other.
Students were able to “challenge” each other, meaning they asked each other questions that were on the study guide. If a student gave an incorrect answer, they were forced to give up one of their clips. When a student lost all five of their clips, they still had a chance to challenge one more person before losing their entire lanyard. Most students enjoyed game; and the project helped many students know the answers on the test.
