Justin Bieber’s New Song is Anything but “Yummy”
Justin Bieber has made a recent comeback into the spotlight of fame. The 26-year-old singer released a new single titled “Yummy,” and to no surprise, people didn’t like it. It took a team of six writers to compose Bieber’s song and yet somehow they made it worse than “Baby,” his first hit single. Bieber and his marketing team have been desperately trying to get the song to number one, but it just isn’t working.
Embarrassing enough, “Yummy” was written about Bieber’s wife, Hailey Baldwin. When he isn’t repeating the word “yummy” 12 dozen times, Bieber compliments his wife with, “Bonafide stallion. Ain’t in no stable, no, you stay on the run.” He literally compares his wife, a model, to a male horse and then goes straight back into how he thinks she is “yummy.” This just proves that Bieber hasn’t matured since his time away from the spotlight. To be completely honest, he really shouldn’t even be back in the first place. He had his hit songs, awards, movies, and moment of fame, so why come back? His net worth is $285 million, so it’s not like he needs the money.
Freshman Claudia Dobson and Anslee Merritt both disliked Bieber’s new single “Yummy” as well. “It’s something you would hear in Forever 12, but not something I would listen to on my own. I like Justin Bieber, he’s made some popular songs but I don’t think he needs a comeback. He’ll try to anyway though,” Dobson expressed. Merritt agreed with this and stated, “I liked the old Justin Bieber, but now I don’t really know. I mean he’s had some good songs but I feel like he is really starting to go downhill.”
The song is just half of the story. Bieber also posted random pictures of babies on his Instagram with the caption “#yummy.” Dobson had an opinion on this too saying, “I didn’t really understand the baby pictures. I thought it was kinda weird and it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way on the internet. And I think this shows Justin Bieber is desperate to be famous again. He promotes so much just for one song because it’s not getting enough views or downloads.”
Justin Bieber, to put it bluntly, will never be the mature pop star he wants to be. He was brought into fame at too young of an age, and it clearly has gone to his head.
