How NFHS Clubs are Giving Back this Holiday Season
As Christmas inches closer and closer, clubs at North Forsyth are becoming more and more involved in the community. Clubs like National Honor Society (NHS), National English Honor Society (NEHS), and Beta Club are holding multiple different activities throughout the school during the holiday season.
The National Honor Society is going full swing into the Christmas season through “Cards of Joy” for various nursing homes around the community. Junior Brodie Mizer said “being in National Honor Society gives me a sense of giving back to my community, which makes me like a better person because it’s giving to others”
Many more members felt similar as senior Ansley Miller thinks “it’s a really good community service opportunity and getting to involve myself in the community outside of just school.” She went on to say “I think it’s taught me that there’s always a place to help, and that everybody can be helped.”
The National English Honor Society is also staying in touch with the Christmas spirit and the community. In an effort to ensure that every kid receives a present and an opportunity to read books, the Beta Club is hosting a holiday book drive for young kids, who don’t have books. They are also writing holiday cards for the community.
The North Forsyth Beta Club is helping not only the members of the outside community but also the community of the school. The Beta Club is helping teachers wrap Christmas gifts for children all throughout the county. They are hosting a food drive for families in need of food during the holiday season, as well as writing cards for nursing homes.
These clubs and members pride themselves on their involvement in school and the rest of the outside community. Everyone seems excited to give back and support the county in every way possible.
