The popular mobile game “Among Us” took off in the Spring of 2020 with more than 85 million downloads. “Among Us” can also be downloaded on “Steam” for a small price. “Among Us” is a game where up to 10 players work together to figure out who the imposters are. There are two roles you can get: crewmate and imposter. The basic idea of the game is simple, crewmates try to finish their tasks and figure out who the imposter is while the imposter kills off the crew. Here are a few tips and guidelines on how to (not) play “Among Us,” so the experience can be a lot more enjoyable for everyone.

1. As an imposter, make sure you rat out the other imposter to cover yourself up.

When you are selected as the imposter and you are playing with more than one imposter, it is important to gain the other crewmates’ trust. One way you can do this is to let everyone know who the other imposter is.

2. Call an emergency meeting and then don’t say anything.

By calling a meeting or reporting a body and not saying anything helps the crewmates use more of their thinking skills to figure out what happened. This not only makes the game more fun for everyone, but it makes them think harder throughout the game.

3. When you are a crewmate, don’t do your tasks.

Not doing your tasks saves you a lot of time. While all the other crewmates waste their time doing tasks to try to win the game, you can use your free time to look for clues on who the imposter is.

4. Make sure that when you type, you use all caps.

Using all caps text helps get your point across. Other players are much more likely to listen to what you have to say when you use all caps. It shows them that what you say is important, urgent and necessary to win the game.

5. If you are being ejected as an imposter, tell everyone who the other imposter is.

Last but not least, telling everyone who the other imposter is can help the game end much quicker. While this is much like tip number one, it is slightly different and much more effective. You can help end the game much faster, and the crewmates can win.
