On Thursday, Sept. 16, after school at Gainesville High School, the North Forsyth Varsity softball team faced off against the Gainesville Danes. The Raiders dominated Gainesville, winning the game 17-0.

The game started strong when freshman Logan Currie, #16, scored senior Lauren Fields, #2, for the first game point. As the game went on, the team soared to the top, defeating the Danes by a blowout. “I think our team will do well against Gainesville,” said junior Alexis Monroe, #8, before the game.

To practice for this game, the team made sure to stay selfless at the plate and continue to work the field. They practiced all the necessary situations that could happen during a game and focused on the simple things, such as driving in runs with runners on base and making the routine plays.

As the team dominated the Danes, the team loved to watch and support each other. Monroe expressed, “Everybody got to go to the game, and it was super fun to watch everyone make plays.” The plays that were made showed how the team practiced; they were ready for anything the Danes threw at them. The team worked together, which helped them defeat the Danes with a score of 17-0.
