The North Lady Raider Basketball team 2021-2022 season has been ultimately successful without any in-region losses. Senior Haelim Adle, famous for her pink hair, joined the team as a freshman playing Varsity and has never looked back since. She hopes to take home another region title and pursue a state championship for her senior year.

She started her basketball career at a young age, but never took her game seriously until seventh grade. “I started playing for the feeder program that North runs. I went to my first feeder practice, and I died because it was very strenuous and hard. I would start running [on my own] to get in shape. I started putting in extra time shooting or working on my finishing moves.”

Well-known for her dedication to her fitness, Adle cultivated this culture because she “just wanted to push [herself] as hard as [she] could to do as much as [she] could.” She implements this motivation onto the North court. “No matter what, I keep working. I was able to keep this self-motivation and self-determination to continue getting better and trying to grow my abilities.”

Adle is an amazing addition to the North team and an even better person. She credits the North program for transforming her into the person she is today. “The program has helped me a lot to build my future for basketball. I started getting in touch with coaches and going to a bunch of camps that would get me seen by coaches. I went to a summer camp that [the University of Alabama in Huntsville] did. The coach really liked me. I went on my official visit to the school, and I committed to them right there.”

While her future in basketball is bright, Adle hasn’t lost sight of the rest of her senior season and continues to work hard to reach the top. “We’re really hoping to get a lot further in the state playoffs. We’re hoping to bring home another region championship to make it…five years…I think.” As well as the maintenance of her competitive mindset, Adle is also focused on her relationship with her teammates since it is her last season with them. “We were able to really build our team bond and team chemistry this year, which is amazing. I will really miss these girls, of course, because I’ve been with them for so long. They’re the best team that I could have ever asked for.”

She is just as dedicated on the court as she is to her academics, making Adle an excellent North student. Adle will go on to represent North at the collegiate level playing basketball with the same, if not better, intensity and dedication that she learned here at North.
