Macy’s celebrated its annual Thanksgiving Parade on Nov. 24, 2022. Narrated by the two anchors Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, the parade ran through the streets of New York City with extravagant performances and exquisite floats making the 96th Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade the most unforgettable yet.

The parade had an inviting welcome with an opening number of “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from the infamous musical “Funny Girl” starring Lea Michele. It was shortly followed by additional musical performances from the cast of “Lion King the Musical,” “Some Like it Hot,” and “A Beautiful Noise.” The Rockettes concluded the musical performances with their traditional performance and infamous kick-line.

With the cutting of the ribbon, Tom the Turkey kicked off the start of the Thanksgiving Parade. Several performances took place including a performance by the University of Missouri Marching Band.

Returning floats made an appearance including the Green Giant accompanied by the internet sensation known as “Corn Kid.” Other floats such as “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and “Boss Baby” returned to the parade. New floats, such as the popular character Baby Yoda from the recent “Mandalorian” series, made their debut.

The parade featured special performances and appearances from stars such as Jordan Davis, Paula Abdul, Jimmy Fallon, Mario Lopez, Gloria Estefan, the cast of “Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin,” the USA Cheer Team, and this year’s Miss America, Emma Broyles.

After extravagant performances, exquisite floats, and sensational appearances, Macy’s 96th annual Thanksgiving Parade came to a conclusion with a special performance of “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey, followed by the famous appearance of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus to welcome the beginning of the holiday season.
