Senior Elijah Seaney’s four passing touchdowns lead the Raiders to a 49-14 win over the War Eagles.
North opened up region play at home this past Friday as they took on South. The Raiders have lost eight of the last ten games between the two teams, and Coach Robert Craft was looking to change the narrative.
Both teams were 2-1 coming into the game. Following their bye week, the Raiders knew they had to use the extra rest and preparation to their advantage, and that’s exactly what they did.
The Raiders first struck the end zone on a Darron Perry (Junior) 24-yard rushing touchdown. They followed up with a 59-yard touchdown pass to senior, wide receiver, Avery Adams to put the Raiders up 14-0 early. Seaney would connect with Adams in the endzone for the second time, making it 21-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.
North would score two touchdowns in the 2nd quarter, the first being a 9-yard Rushing TD from Perry and the other through the air to junior, tight end, Hudson Wheeler. By the end of the half, the Raiders were up big, 35-0.
When interviewed after the half, junior, punter, Caleb Kidd said that Coach Craft “really emphasized how we, the team, need to play more disciplined and stop with the personal fouls.”
Following this speech, the Raiders looked to have played a cleaner half than the first.
In the third quarter, the Raiders and War Eagles exchanged touchdowns, with Seaney hooking up with Senior Wide Receiver Nate Gravitt, making it 42-7 heading into the fourth.
The fourth quarter was much the same, with both teams scoring touchdowns. Junior Running Back Sammy Lemos ran it 40 yards to score the final points of the night for the Raiders, ending in a 49-14 Raiders win.
