The Cumming Fair has been the largest event hosted at the city’s fairgrounds since 1994, when it was launched. In total, over 250,000 people attend this regional fair each year in downtown Cumming, Ga. The festival runs for 11 days and is packed with food, rides, games, attractions, shows and even a petting zoo!
This year the fair will run from Oct. 3 to Oct. 13. The fair hours will be:
Monday through Thursday from 4-10
Friday from 4-midnight
Saturday from 10-midnight
Sunday from 12:30-9
On Thursday, it’s $25 for unlimited rides; $30 for unlimited rides on Friday. There will be free entry and free rides from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., as well as $35 unlimited rides available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., which will be valid until close on Saturday. On Sunday, it’s Hero Day, meaning all service workers have free entry with proper ID. Free entry if you bring 7 cans of non-perishable food, courtesy of Meals by Grace, and free admission with a School Coupon from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
There are two different kinds of shows hosted at the fairgrounds. There are Daily Attractions which are on the main floor of the grounds, which include Jurassic Kingdom, Fireguy Show, Sea Lion Splash, David Smith the Human Cannonball, Rosaire’s Royal Racers, Brian Ruth the Master of the Chainsaw, Four Scythes Haunted Attraction and the North Georgia Petting Zoo. Then there is the Arena Series, which features shows held in the arena at the festival and includes Mark Wills, Monster Trucks, Bull Riding and Miss Cumming Fair.
When multiple students at North Forsyth High School were interviewed about their favorite rides from this year’s fair season, 3 rides stood out the most; Jekyll & Hyde, Cyclops, and the Matterhorn were the winners by a landslide. Students enjoy the thrill of these rides above all other factors.
With exciting rides, awesome performances, entertaining attractions, and delicious food, the Cumming County Fair & Festival should be high on your list to visit this October.
