As the tears begin flowing
Our wings tear by the seams
Fluttering to a halt
We are no longer dancing
We are drowning
All I want is to flutter again
But our wings are faulty
Can my wings be fixed?
Or… can they be replaced?
Destroy the old and be created anew?
For my wings have scars and tears
What have I become, a mere caterpillar?
How must one love and cherish another who is not as perfect as before.
How can one be as cruel as you—breaking my wings with your hollow tears.
My wings, tainted with memories
Now at the hands of your mercy
Pleading for release,
Pleading for freedom.
All I wanted was to dance with you
One last time
Then no one shall ever dance our dance again
