North Forsyth High School’s senior and vice president of the theater program, Tyler Tracy, shares his goals and desires for his future in an interview, highlighting his personality and how he wishes to be perceived as he enters his final moments at North Forsyth High School.
As the second-semester approaches, Tracy is working toward his future career and college decisions. He seeks a career in the STEM field, and although he has not yet decided on an exact major, he is considering studying in mathematical and/or scientific areas.
While Tracy is still working on his college applications, his target schools for his future after graduation are the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech. Although he is not certain of acceptance, Tracy dreams of one day attending his dream schools, Yale and New York University.
As Tracy continues his search for a STEM major, his love and passion for theater and dance walks with him through college. He seeks to pursue a minor in theater arts, and continues his dream career as a dancer and performer. He shares his desire for performance stating, “I don’t see myself doing it as like, a direct, like, career choice, but definitely something that I want to keep in my life as I get older.”
When asked who he looks up to as he looks back on his life and what has brought him to his success, Tracy quotes his mother’s story as an immigrant from the Philippines who immigrated at the young age of 17 to be an aspiration for him, sharing their experiences living a rough life in New York. He reflects on his past, admiring his mother for the hard work she put into providing for him throughout the years to be where he is today.
As his senior year slowly comes to an end, after graduation he wants to be known as a leader to other students at North Forsyth. He’s always seeking to help others through who he is, citing his strong and direct personality as well as his caring and respectful character towards others. He states his most unique feature is, “My charisma, I think, like, you know, when I walk into a room, I make my presence known.”
Looking back on the last 4 years at North Forsyth High School, he believes the most memorable part being the relationships and support he has gained throughout the years. He is currently looking forward to his theater department’s Shoulder Show, and the opening of “The Drowsy Chaperone” in January. He will be playing one of the lead roles.
Furthermore, Tracy shares his future goals as he approaches a new chapter in life while pursuing his love for theater. The people and experiences in his life have led him to success and support throughout High School, and will stick with him as he works towards pursuing a college career.
