The countdown to Fortnite’s new season, Chapter 6, Season 1, is closing in at an alarming rate. Fortnite OG is back again… for the second time in one year. This new season has fans from across the world on the edge of their seats anticipating the launch date: December 6. Without further ado, let’s break down this upcoming season.
Fortnite OG is a replica of the original Fortnite gameplay from 2017-2019 which hits home for a lot of the older players. Although Fortnite OG is the headline of this new launch, it is not the default battle royale game mode. That title belongs to the official new season of Fortnite: Demon Hunters. It features a new map that nobody has ever seen and eight new skins, seven of which are open to the eye, while one is a secret skin that you unlock by doing challenges. But first, to unlock these skins, you must buy the battle pass, which is 950 v-bucks. You must choose the OG game mode in the Fortnite Battle Royale lobby to play Fortnite OG.
With new seasons also come new patches, weapons, and movements. According to ON SI, “Chapter 6 Season 1 has a lineup of futuristic weapons, including the following: Holo Twister assault rifle, Veiled Precision SMG, Surgefire SMG, Sentinel pump shotgun, Twinfire auto shotgun, and the Oni shotgun. The new movements include:
Roll Landing – Tap jump just before hitting the ground to do a roll that restores your stamina. Wall Kick – Press jump near a wall to kick off it; you can perform another movement off of a wall kick, including more wall kicks. Wall Scramble – Jump at a high wall, and your character will attempt to scramble up it, mantling if they grab a ledge. You can wall kick mid-way through this move to gain height.”
From a financial and statistical standpoint, this season has a chance to make an historical impact on both Fortnite’s revenue and player count. The gaming company will look to build on their $20 Billion revenue with the addition of this exciting new season.
Fortnite: Demon Hunters is available on all consoles and mobile devices.
