Jan. 20 2025, President Donald Trump was sworn into office for the second time. Trump, who had won the election back in November over his opponent, Kamala Harris, is now set to resume his presidency after he had lost the election when he ran for a second term in 2021. Joe Biden was in attendance as he formally transferred power back to Trump.
President Trump and vice president JD Vance both started their day at a church service near the white house then proceeded to the U.S Capitol for the swearing in ceremony with the now former president Joe Biden and his family.
After Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States of America he then delivered his Inaugural Address. In this speech, Trump highlighted the changes he would bring to America and laid out his plans and guidelines in order to maintain peace both in the country and in world wide affairs.
Trump began his speech with “The golden age of America begins right now.” By saying this Trump is promising to put America first in everything he does and is looking to restore the respect that America deserves that he believes was lost in the last four years.
After his speech concluded Trump and now first lady Melania Trump attended the formal departure of Joe and Jill Biden as they departed the White House for the final time.
Quickly after the departure of the Biden’s, President Trump immediately began signing new executive orders into place. Trump signed nearly 100 new orders to take effect and did so on live television and informed America of every document he signed.
Afterwards a series of inaugural balls took place in order to celebrate Trump. One of which featured performances by many music icons such as Jason Aldean, Billy Ray Cyrus, Rascal Flatts and Parker McCollum.
