As the new month has rolled around, so has the newest addition to the list of Cars of the Month. This month’s winner is Jonathan Milford, with his 1976 Chevrolet C30 Camper Special.
What stands out the most about Milford’s Chevy is its uniqueness. He says its single-cab, dually model is one “you don’t see many of” around town. It is the only one of its kind on campus.
Due to the age of Milford’s truck, you may think it has been passed through his family; however, it has not. Milford has owned his Chevy for five years, and he has not experienced many issues with it so far.
However, he has made several modifications and customization’s to his truck in order to keep it looking fresh and running smoothly. Some of the modifications he has made include lowering the truck and modifying the suspension. His favorite customization to his truck so far has been replacing its radio. In the near future, Milford plans to tint his windows and purchase new window seals. He works on his truck with his dad, but he does most of the work himself.
Milford says “about 90%” of his truck is still original, which includes the entire body, other than the suspension. The truck’s paint is also not original, which has been redone in order to maintain its great looks. There are yet to be any challenges for Milford in maintaining his truck, other than keeping it clean and looking sharp.
His Chevy is yet to make its first appearance in any car shows, however, Milford says “he would like to” take it to one in the near future. Milford has “always wanted” a truck like the one he has now ever since he was a kid, so it is safe to say his ‘76 Chevy is his dream truck.
There is no doubt his truck stands out more than others on campus, mainly due to its surprisingly great condition for its near 50-year age. Milford’s truck is well deserving of winning the title of February Car of the Month.
