A double victory was performed March 27th by North Forsyth High School’s Lacrosse teams, winning both the girls and boys senior night game.
The varsity girl’s opponent was Hebron Christian Academy from Dacula, Georgia. Throughout the first period of the girls’ game, North maintained a strong offense. By halftime, North was up 14-0.
North continued scoring calculated and precise hits; defense on Hebron would need a lot of energy to push past the first-half downs.
Halfway through the third period, the score was 16-1. North’s girls impressively continued a streak, building the score to 20-2 with a victory.
After the senior celebration, at 7:30, the boys’ game began against Riverwood High School from Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Three minutes into the game, Riverwood showed great offense, and by the fourth minute, they scored one up on North Forsyth. Nine minutes later, Riverwood gained another goal, leaving the score 0-2.
Riverwood continued with a strong offense, but North was saved by freshman goalie Parker Janes twice.
By the end of the period, things weren’t looking great for the North Forsyth defense. They would h`ave to step up to compete.
Three minutes into the second period North’s first goal was scored by junior Emery Dennis and another amazing save by Janes.
Seven minutes into the second period, team captain and senior Parker Smaltz scored again for North Forsyth, racking the score to 2-2.
The crowd went wild for senior Ryan Dooley’s mass deflection 10 minutes into period 2.
Twelve Minutes into period two, junior Jimmy Tillotson scored, bringing the score up to 3-3. North’s hopes begin to soar as they attempt to keep up with the offense’s demand.
Janes gets another block, and eight minutes into the third period sophomore Reece Lemons scores. Riverwood was bringing out all the stops, keeping the score tied continuously as it’s now 4-4.
For the next three minutes, North gained two goals, one by Dennis and the other by Tillotson, the score was now 6-4. Janes keeps blocking Riverwood’s shots, and North begins racking up goals.
Lemons scores again and brings us to 8-4, and Smaltz scores again and carries it up 9-4.
Five minutes into the final quarter, freshman Cru Davis scores a goal for North Forsyth while another amazing save is performed by Janes.
With six minutes left in the fourth quarter, senior Logan Martucci scores two goals in 22 seconds. And another perfect deflection is made by Jane.
The final goal of the game was scored by Smaltz, the final score was 14-7.
Both varsity girls and boys won their senior night game!
