The intense match between Creekview High School from Canton, GA, and the North Forsyth High School girl’s varsity soccer team was on April 8th, 2025, hosted in the Raider Valley.
The first half was a tight contest, with both teams playing strong defense and preventing any scoring opportunities. North’s goalkeeper made crucial saves, while Creekview also kept their defense strong, leaving the score 0-0 by halftime. Neither team ended up being able to break through, despite several close calls on both sides.
The second half began with Creekview taking the lead with 31:53 left on the clock. Creekview performed a well-executed play, as they broke through North’s defense in a swift manner. They scored the first goal of the match and put them in the lead at 1-0.
North responded quickly, and with 18:47 left on the clock, freshman Breckyn Povenz scored a pivotal goal, immersing North into the game and racking it up 1-1. This moved North to a good spot as well as energized the crowd.
However, Creekview regained the lead just a minute later with 17:54 left. North’s goalkeeper ventured too far outside the box, and Creekview took advantage of this, scoring their second goal, making the new score 2-1.
After going back and forth for some time, the final goal of the match came with 13:43 left on the clock when Creekview scored again, making it 3-1. Despite North’s efforts, they were unable to recover, and Creekview held them until the final whistle.
With the win, Creekview continues its strong performance this season, while North will look to regroup and focus on the next game. The match was highly competitive and well played. North Forsyth’s varsity girls now have a season score of 3-10 as well as ranked 8 in 6A Region 6, and Creekview’s varsity girls now have a season score of 9-3.
