Winter has ended and spring has begun. Finals and exams are upcoming, and students are definitely stressed. Destressing is a need right now. Here are the top 10 activities you can do with your friends or family to enjoy the rest of spring before time runs out.
1. Treetop Quest
The treetop quest park is an outdoor park with zip lines and obstacle courses in the top of the trees. It’s a wonderful spot for hanging out with your friends and family. It certainly is a bit challenging as you make your way from tree to tree, because of all the obstacles and ziplines. There are seven courses, and you can go through any course as many times you want to for two and half hours.
2. Cumming Aquatic Center
The Cumming Aquatic Center is perfect for prepping for summer pool parties. It has an Olympic-sized competition pool, a multi-use instructional pool, and a heated outdoor leisure pool with a lazy river and water slides. It’s wonderful for all ages and would be perfect for the rising temperatures.
3. Ice Skating at The Ice
Sure spring is coming up, but winter is still so fun and let’s be honest; the temperatures outside aren’t always fun. Something that is fun and indoors is ice skating. The ICE is the perfect indoor place to meet up with friends and family. Not only can you ice skate but also play hockey.
4. Mary Alice Beach Park
Mary Alice provides more fun than any other prairie located on the west side of Lake Lanier. It’s close to Cumming and close to every shop, store, restaurant and hotel. You can cruise the wonderful waters of Lake Lanier and go fishing. It’s famous for launching some of the best fireworks in all of Georgia. Definitely a sight worth seeing.
5. Sawnee Mountain Preserve
The Sawnee Mountain Preserve has hiking trails, Indian seats, a tree canopy classroom, playground, picnic pavilions, climbing areas, amphitheaters and visitor centers which are open to the public every day. At the top of the trails you can catch beautiful views of the North Georgia Mountains. The preserve is perfect for aesthetic spring photos.
6. Warbington Farms
Warbington has been voted the best farm in Forsyth County for the last seven years. During spring you can go to their farm and pick the sweetest strawberries in Georgia. Along with strawberry picking, there are several other spring activities you can enjoy!
7. Cumming City Center
The Cumming Center is a vibrant hub with several small shops bringing back the small-town charm. Our Big City Spirit and Small Town Heart can be found throughout the various modern amenities, restaurants, stores, walking and biking trails and more! With its small town vibe the city center transports the visitors back to when times were slow and fun. A great place to visit to slow down and take a moment for yourself!
8. Milton Historical Society’s Spring Fling
The Milton Historical Society is hosting its annual Spring Fling at The Barn of Birmingham on April 26th. It’s a wonderful evening of live music, delicious food and drinks, and other people from our community!
9. Amicalola Falls State Park
Amicalola Falls State Park is on the edge of the North Georgia Mountains. Named after the magnificent 729 foot waterfall, Amicalola Falls, is a nature lover’s wonderland. Enjoy the beautiful scenery from anywhere you stay while relishing all of the different activities available in the Adventure Lodge.
10. Fowler Park
Fowler Park is a massive public space including a recreational area, several various sports fields, courts, playground and a state park. You can enjoy a day with your family or friends with various activities to do.
