Ole Miss defeats Auburn 48-34

Saturday, Oct. 15, Ole Miss played against Auburn winning with a score of 48 to 34. .  They played at the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium located at the University of Mississippi. Auburn was back on the road for the second straight week to play an unbeaten team. Ole Miss is ranked ninth  with Auburn being unranked. Auburn came in after two losses against LSU 21 to 17 and Georgia 42 to 10.

 

The first quarter end score was 14 to 0 with Ole Miss in the lead. In the second quarter, Ole Miss continued the lead with a score of  28 to 17. At the third quarter 31-38 was the score at the end of the quarter, with Ole Miss still in the lead. Fourth quarter, Ole Miss wins 48 to 34.

 

Ole Miss had three 100-yard rushers. Freshman Quinshon Judkins rushed for 139 yards adding two touchdowns. Zach Evans also had a good rushing yard game of 139 yards with one touchdown. Jaxson Dart finished the day with 115 rushing yards. 

 

Tank Bigsby led Auburn with 179 rushing yards and ended up with two touchdown passes, one of which was a 50-yard touchdown right after halftime. Jarquez Hunter added 80 rushing yards which were not enough at the end to take the lead. Auburn early in the game was down 21-0. Owen Pappoe, the defensive captain, led Auburn’s defense to a couple of stops to keep Auburn in the game. Owen ended up with 16 tackles.

 

With six minutes left in the game, there was a lightning delay that lasted for 30 minutes. At the 9:45 mark in the third quarter, Ole Miss sent out its kickoff unit. They had just gained the lead by 7 points. They pushed the ball 10 yards downfield to the right. Ole Miss fell on it and ended up kicking with perfection turning it into three more points, they now were at 48 to 34. 

This was the first time Auburn lost to Ole Miss since 2015.
