2022-2023 NF Cheer Banquet
As all the cheer teams seasons are coming to an end the cheer banquet happened to honor the cheerleaders. On Feb. 11 the North Forsyth cheerleaders all attended the banquet ready to celebrate and honor each other. Awards were handed out, seniors were celebrated, and teams were together for one last time for the 2023 season.
All the teams were brought up and honored including: Varsity Competition, JV Competition, Varsity Football, JV Football, Varsity Basketball, JV Basketball and Game Day cheer teams. Then the awards followed. The awards included: Achievement winners, all region comp members, Raider Award 2023, MVP award, Most Dedicated Award, Most Improved for comp, Most Spirited Award and the Rookie Award.
The winners of the Achievement award were Peyton Davis, Skylar Gual, Ella Durant, Brooklyn Gibson and Tori Harrill. The All Region Competition cheer members included Alexa Pearson, Destiny Kerns, Ally Stanfield, and Brooklyn Gibson.
The MVP award went to Jaiden Leroy, Gaby Souffrant, Madison Simonds, Brooklyn Gibson, Caroline Mannozzi and Sophia Gavin. The Most Dedicated award went to Gaby Souffrant, Lydia Blackburnn, Alexa Pearson, Sophia Gavin, Natalie Chepel and Cole Dodson. The Rookie award went to Ally Stanfield, Bianca Monta, Parker Lost and London Yeakle. Most Improved for Comp included Blakeley Nowlin and Parker Lost. The Most Spirited award went to Emmelyn Harrison, Angela Agbi-Owusu, Mia Olvera and Rylee Lamb.
The Raider Award is awarded to senior cheerleaders who exemplify what being a Raider is all about. This year’s winners included Joci Trigg, Sophia Gavin and Lindsey Head. “I wasn’t expecting to get it because I’ve only been cheering at North for two years. I was incredibly happy that the girls in this program think so highly of me,” said Gavin.
Last but not least the senior cheerleaders were honored and gave advice to upcoming cheerleaders. After the Seniors were honored and congratulated the cheerleaders spread and went to take pictures with each other and sign the seniors posters. And that was the end of the 2023 cheer season.
