With the final score of 28 – 7 on the night of Sept. 12, the North Forsyth High School football team scored a victory against its rival, the War Eagles at South Forsyth High School.
The game kicked off at 7:30 p.m., but the excitement didn’t begin until the first touchdown scored by the Raider’s number 11, Cash Martin, with the help of a pass from Tucker Lamb, number 7. From this moment, the real game began. In the first quarter, both teams were competing to gain points. Back and forth across the field, each kept short of the endzone.
The first quarter ended with the scores at 7-0. This wasn’t for long, as South Forsyth quickly scored a touchdown, upping the score to 7-7. Both teams fought hard to raise their score and come out on top. Number 1, Darron Parry, soon breaks this tie with his touchdown, bringing seven points to the Raiders, leaving the War Eagles in their dust for the rest of the game.
At the beginning of the third quarter, Parry rushed 40 yards, scoring North another touchdown. Parry’s strive to win wasn’t finished yet. Nearing the end of the quarter, Parry ran seven yards, scoring his third and final touchdown of the game.
The fourth quarter was an intense face-off. Both teams did as much as they could to get the ball to their own end zone. The defence of each team worked extra to stop the ball from advancing further up and down the field. North was able to get the ball back to the center of the field before North advanced to South’s 37 yard line.
North achieved a major victory, adding a third win out of four games so far in the season.
