Caitlin Shelby, Literary Magazine Editor-in-Chief
Caitlin Shelby draws inspiration from her heritage, woven in the maternal mountains of Appalachia themselves. Lana del Rey and Taylor Swift frequent Caitlin’s ears, but she finds nothing more satisfying than driving through the mountains listening to a blooming banjo ballad or fiddle-fertilized production. Caitlin attempts a garden each spring, but it grows to her nose year after year, and she’s left feeling irresponsible yet free. The Shelby Farm, established 1823, rests in Sharps Chapel, Tennesse- Caitlin’s most familiar and favorite place in the world. Her writing topics reflect her passionate interest in rugged, backcountry Appalachia and the history of Southern America. Her future ambitions are laced with sweet-hearted animals, expansive property, tepid waters, a successful garden, a creative career, and a lovely sweetheart. However, Caitlin realizes that each day holds precious potential that one must mine in order to cherish.
