It’s no secret that when Halloween rolls around, there is a wide array of monsters that come out. Whether it’s in movies or in costumes, there are plenty of monsters to pick from. Here are the top 5 most common and popular monsters that roam the night on Halloween.
- The Mummy.
A staple Halloween costume featured in many movies is the mummy, such as the classic 1999 film “The Mummy”. These monsters are centuries-old humans wrapped in cloth that were laid to rest but then rudely awakened. Mummies can be killed by fire as they burst into flames.
- The Werewolf.
The werewolf is a man by day, but turns into a horrific beast during a full moon. Appearing famously in the 2004 “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” as Professor Lupin, the Werewolf is a staple in Hollywood. The Werewolves can be defeated with any silver weapon, but more specifically, the silver bullet.
- The Vampire.
These night-stalking monsters fear the sun and garlic, famous for flying around as bats and drinking blood. The most famous vampire is Dracula, who has appeared in many movies, such as the 1970 classic “Count Dracula”. Vampires can be defeated by being stabbed with a wooden stake.
- The Ghost.
A ghost is a human forced to roam the earth for the rest of eternity. Ghosts are in many classic Halloween films, such as the Maitland couple in the 1988 classic “Beetlejuice”. The best way to kill a ghost is by making a salt circle.
- The Witch.
Witches come in many forms, but are most commonly portrayed as evil women riding on their brooms with a black cat. They famously appeared in the 1993 film “Hocus Pocus” as the three Sanderson sisters. There are many ways to kill a witch, including but not limited to: burning it, pouring water on it, casting a spell or taking away its power source. They earn their spot at number one due to their many forms. Witches can be found any time of the year and are a perfect symbol of the monsters that awaits you on Halloween.
