Marcus Alvarez, a sophomore at North Forsyth High School, recently won the 200m and 400m at the Forsyth County Track and Field Championships. After his dominating performance at County Championships, Alvarez earned a spot to compete in the Region 6A Championships. Marcus carried on his momentum and helped the Raiders to a second place finish, only missing first place by a slim five point margin. At Regionals, he finished first in the 200m and 400m final. Alvarez was also a part of the 4x400m record breaking relay team, consisting of Alex Killingsworth, Alex Peacock, and Jordan Palms.

Alvarez’s next meet is Sectionals, and if he places top eight in either the 200m or 400m, he will be moving on to the Georgia State Championships to represent the Raiders.
