New Recreation Center for Cumming

The construction crew has established some beams and frames, as well as the first layer of concrete. The new building has plans to offer amenities and offices that the current building does not.

Early this year, a new recreation center for Cumming, was drafted and set to be finished by October. Due to several delays, the construction was pushed back, but the center will be usable in the year 2016. This building has been an idea for several years; therefore, there are a lot of people happy to finally see progress on it.

Even though this project was intended to be quick, the process took much longer than expected due to weather and money constraints. The construction crew was forced to redesign the building, which took about three months; every draft was above budget. When they finally sketched a building that was in budget, the weather caused another delay. Many of their work days were rainy and humid, which is not good for construction.

The project finally took flight and is expected to be usable around March.

Some of the amenities that will be offered in the new building include: a playground, a possible amphitheater, several offices, and dance/fitness studios.

The anticipation for this building is high, leaving many people itching for the transfer from the current building. With all of the construction in Cumming, it seems that the city is getting remodeled, which may be a very good thing.
