Our competition cheerleading team went to sectionals on Saturday November 7 and placed 5th out of 34 teams. They came in as the underdogs because it was their first time in the coed division. However, they walked away with a total score of 259 and a spot reserved for them in the state competition. They were one of only ten teams with a flawless routine. The performance went without any drops, falls, or illegal deductions.

With practices three times a week from 9:00 – 12:00 A.M. in June and July, and four times a week in August through November from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., their hard work paid off when they were given the opportunity to compete at the state championship.

The school hosted a hall walk on November 12 to send off the cheerleaders to their state competition at the Columbus Civic Center. They were scheduled to compete on November 13 at 9:10 P.M. To place, the team had to be in the top 5. They ended up in 11th place with one deduction of five points for a fall and a total score of 241. All in all, the season has been very successful for our competition cheerleaders.
