The Atlanta Braves  beat the New York Mets on Sunday, April 14, with a score of 7-3. The game took place at Suntrust Park, where the four-game series was held. In the MLB, a four-game series is when two teams compete against each other in four games before facing the next teams. The Mets were able to take victories in the first two games, but the Braves fought hard in the last two games, dominating the last game of the series. These two wins from the Braves improved their score to 9-6, which placed them third in the NL East,  the division the Atlanta Braves are in.

The first four innings of the game were very slow, with both teams only scoring one run, but the Mets managed to get an early home run in the second inning, from first baseman Pete Alonso. During the third inning, the Braves’ right fielder Ronald Acuña hit a fly ball into the outfield, which let Ozhaino Albies score a run to give the Braves the lead 2-1. The pitcher for the Braves, Julio Teherán, played a very important role in the game, providing six strikeouts in early innings, which let the Braves keep their lead for almost the whole game. The Atlanta Braves were able to gain a lead, 5-1, with home runs from Josh Donaldson, Charlie Culberson and Ozhaino Albies. In the eighth inning, the Mets managed to score two runs off of a ground ball from Mets shortstop Amed Rosario. In the ninth and final inning, Jeurys Familia pitched three strikeouts, ending the game 7-3 and tying the series 2-2.

With this win from the Atlanta Braves, they were able to move up in the rankings to 12 and improved their batting average to a .396, which is one of the best in the league. If the Atlanta Braves can continue winning and playing like they did in this game, they will easily be able to make it to the playoffs.
