Where Did the Time Go?

From the start of school to the end, where did the time go? Photo from Pinterest.

I open my eyes to the sound of my mother entering my room to stir me from my peaceful slumber. Hanging on my dresser is a perfectly pink dress paired with my glittered, light-up sketchers. She brushes the hair stuck to my forehead aside with her fingers and softly speaks, urging me to wake up. I jump up, excited for the new adventures I am about to embark on. After brushing my teeth and jumping into my dress, I ask my mom to brush my hair. I run downstairs to sit where my Eggo waffles await, accompanied by a glass of apple juice. A low rumble expels from outside, informing me it is time to go. I run out the door and climb the stairs of the massive, yellow bus in front of me, ecstatic for my first day of school.

I open my eyes to the sound of my mother entering my room to stir me from my peaceful slumber. On my dresser sat a perfectly white dress paired with my nude heels, my cap and gown beside it. She brushes the hair stuck to my forehead aside with her fingers and softly speaks, urging me to start getting ready. I jump out of bed, the feeling of excitement flowing through my body. After brushing my teeth and jumping into my dress, I brush and curl my hair. I run downstairs, welcomed by the scent and warmth of my crisp chocolate chip waffles alongside a cup of coffee. A low rumble from outside expels from my family’s car, signaling it is time. I hop in the car, and we drive. When we arrive, I am directed in the opposite direction of my parents. Within minutes, I am walking across the stage, diploma in hand with the biggest grin on my face. I take my seat, and they congratulate my graduation class. I move my tassel to the left and toss my cap, sending it high into the air. As it falls, I begin to wonder…

Where did all the time go?
