i hope heaven is a museum of my best moments,
and my worst, too.
if there is an afterlife, let it be me paused
in the greatest memories i own
i wish to see everyone i love live joyously,
i can see their exhibits across the granite tile,
and my best friends are giggling at the same memories as me.
if heaven exists, it is an amalgamation
of all of my smallest acts of kindness
done for my friends, loved ones, and especially enemies.
i will be frozen in time, shown every instance i
fixed a shirt tag sticking out,
made tea for my sister,
shared my lunch with a girl I don’t like because she asked
i hope heaven is a museum of my best moments,
and my worst, too.
if there is an afterlife, let it show me everything
i did wrong in life, and how others fixed it.
if there is an afterlife,
it will show me that all my friends, loved ones, and enemies
lived wonderful lives, full of small moments
just as delicately beautiful as mine.
