Heaviness weighs on me like a blanket,
Churning,
Wavering,
Waiting.
Sadness clouds me,
Down, down, down I go.
Trembling,
Breaking.
Bleak eyes peer out of my face,
Dark,
Gray,
Nothingness.
Doves slaughtered at the break of dawn,
Crumbling,
Waning,
Shattering.
The earth shakes,
The darkness claims us,
One
By one.
| Hey, gang! I’m Cameron Simpson, a sophomore at North, and this is my second year in Journalism. I have the privilege this year of being the Literature editor and am so excited to step into my new role! Whenever I’m not in school, you can find me curled up in bed, reading, or at my desk, plotting the murder of the characters I write! (Relax, only half of my writing is murder.) So, as you can tell, I adore writing and wish to be an author one day.
