Rachel McCord , Staff Writer

Rachel McCord is a quiet but thoughtful girl. She loves to express herself in her writing and hopes to help and inspire others through her work. She enjoys cooking and loves to play around with new recipes. She loves to serve others and believes that half the fun in anything that she does, be it writing, cooking or serving in any other way is found in the smiles of those whom she serves. Rachel loves her family and friends with all her heart and can most often be found spending time with them, reading or counting her many blessings. She finds more every day.

The assurance that King has that, despite the present darkness, the sun will rise in the morning, is so tangible and comforting that it extends far beyond the Civil Rights movement and into our everyday lives. He concludes his speech with such a power and confidence that we should all strive to live by: “Well I don’t really know what will happen now. We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn’t really matter with me now, because I’ve been to the mountaintop.”

“Resolve to make each day the beginning of a new year, a new morning, a new adventure.” said Debbie Carroccio. Every sunset wipes away all the mistakes from this day and every sunrise presents us with a clean slate. Every day is an opportunity to improve, to set goals, and to chase dreams. We no longer have to wait for a New Year to begin again, the opportunities become limitless in the present moment as soon as we realize they are.
