The varsity volleyball game on Thursday, September 17 began shortly after 5:00 P.M. in the NFHS gym with the North Forsyth Raiders and Alpharetta High School Raiders chanting their team cheers. As both teams prepared for the game, the stands buzzed with excitement for the upcoming match.

North scored the first point from a spike by sophomore Maddie Bryant, but soon after, Alpharetta scored two points, followed by another two for North.

As the game continued, the score was neck-in-neck for a majority of the time, adding suspense to every play. There was no more than a three point score difference between the two teams until the Alpharetta Raiders hit a streak and came into the lead with a score of 25 to 18 before switching sides to begin a new game in the best two out of three match.

As both teams slid and skidded to hit the ball, the game ultimately remained tied. The Alpharetta Raiders were soon ahead five points, but North recovered from their 18 to 13 point deficit. Despite their comeback, the North Forsyth Raiders did not win, with an ending score of Alpharetta 25 and North 20.

On Tuesday, September 22, the Raiders beat Habersham Central with scores of 25-13 and 25-22 but fell to Lambert in a very close match. Maddie Palmer had an outstanding night with 11 kills on 14 attempts. The Raiders will play again on September 24 at West Hall.
