2020 has been crazy, with the Coronavirus, protests, the election, U.F.O. sightings, and so many strange occurrences. It would be nice for everything to go back to normal. Photo by: Elizabeth Wood

I glance up to the sky. “Nothing,” I sigh to myself. I glance down at my watch and the screen lights up reading 1:45 a.m. I tilt my head back and look up at the sky again. This past year has been crazy with the virus, protests, the election, U.F.O. sightings, and so many strange occurrences. I want school to go back to normal and I want to see my friends. I wish the virus had never happened and everything went back to what I would have considered normal eight months ago.

Recently, everyone has been talking about the full moon and changing our clocks back all on Halloween. In March we switched the clocks forward, had a full moon, and Friday the 13th all in one week. I sigh looking at the open field in front of me. Supposedly, when the clocks turn back, the world will “factory reset.” Personally, I never really believed it but with everything that has happened, I wouldn’t be surprised.

I look down at my watch as the time switches to 1:59 a.m. I sigh and stand up, defeated. I turn and begin to walk back to my house; however, I feel as if my body is being pulled backwards through a spiral of time. I feel a icy breeze blowing around my body like a storm. A flash of light blinds me, and I cover my eyes. I feel everything go still for a moment. Then, everything goes black and the wind stops.

I lean back on my couch as I open Itslearning on my chromebook. In bright red letters, I read “Spanish Test on March 16.” I sigh realizing I need to start studying. I lay back on my couch glancing through the rest of my classes as if the past eight months had never even happened.
