Pop it ‘n Poach it

Aspiring Chef, Perri Rabbitt cracks an egg to whip up a quick and delicious breakfast, poached eggs on toast, a simple yet perfect way to start out the day.

Breakfast can be rough and can make a morning full of activities even rougher. You may feel like you have no time as you run around with mismatched socks while brushing your teeth, but stop and make a delicious breakfast because… there is time. This will only take a moment, so create room for the most important meal of the day, and start the day off right.
Go to the refrigerator/ pantry/ etc. and grab these ingredients:
* Two eggs
* A frying pan
* Boiling Water in the frying pan

* 2 slices of whole wheat bread
* Salt and Pepper
*Butter
*Spoon, fork, and knife
Ready, Set, Go!
1) Crack an egg and drop into the frying pan full of water.
2) As the egg is cooking, grab your spoon and scoop water out of the pan and drizzle it on top of the eggs.
3) Do this for about 3-4 minutes until there is a slight translucent white coat over the yoke of the eggs.
4) Put your toast, buttered or not depending on your preference, on a plate.
5) Pop the poached eggs onto the toast. One egg on each piece of toast is usually what I like.
6) Sprinkle some salt and pepper on top of the eggs.
7) Eat it however you want to! I prefer to eat it with a fork and knife so when I cut into the bread and the poached eggs at the same time, the yoke runs out onto the plate and makes the toast moist. Yummy, and easy peasy.
This used to be my mom’s favorite meal to eat in the whole world. Because she is now allergic to eggs, she enjoys cooking them for everyone else in my family because she knows how delicious they are. There’s just something special about food. It is a perfect way to bring people together. While we eat poached eggs, we make her new favorite… cheeses grits. Our breakfast is quick, easy, and exceptional. Is yours?
